CheerLume Privacy Policy

Our Commitment

This Privacy Policy is issued by independent developer Liu Caiming ("we", "us") and explains how CheerLume handles information. Please read it in full.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

To avoid any ambiguity, the App does not request or collect:

• your name, gender, date of birth or any identity document;
• your phone number, email address or social media accounts;
• your location (the App requests no location permission);
• contacts, call history or messages (no such permissions are requested);
• photos or videos (no photo library permission is requested);
• health, fitness or biometric data;
• card numbers, payment passwords or other financial details;
• the text you type onto the light board.

2. The One Permission We Request

CheerLume requests a single system permission:

Purpose	Used only by Music Flash, to sense the rhythm and volume of the sound around you so the screen and flashlight can pulse in time
Processing	Audio is analysed in memory in real time and discarded immediately
Recording	No. The App records and saves no audio files

Required?	No. Declining does not affect the light board or any other feature

You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

To make basic features work, the App stores the following locally on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere:

About the device identifier specifically:

• it is a random string (a UUID) generated on first launch, unrelated to your phone number, Apple ID, IDFA advertising identifier or any real-world identity;
• it is used solely to count free usage on this device, is never uploaded, and is not visible to us;
• because it lives in the system keychain, it survives deletion of the App, so reinstalling does not reset the free allowance. This keeps the free tier fair for everyone;
• to clear it completely you can reset your keychain data, or erase all content and settings on the device.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

Premium is sold through Apple's App Store, and the entire payment process is handled by Apple.

• We never see your Apple ID, card number, billing address or any payment detail;
• Through Apple's StoreKit framework the App learns only whether a subscription is currently active and when it expires, in order to unlock Premium features;
• Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

CheerLume integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or push-notification SDK.

The App transmits no data to any third party other than Apple's own services for subscription validation.

Some links in the App (user agreement, membership agreement, share, rate the app) open external web pages or system apps. Those services are run by their own operators under their own privacy policies and fall outside the scope of this Policy.

6. Security

Because the App collects and transmits no personal information, the risks of interception in transit or of a server-side breach do not arise.

Data stored on your device is protected by the iOS sandbox and by keychain encryption. Please keep your device and passcode secure.

7. Children's Privacy

We take the protection of children's information seriously. As the App collects no personal information at all, it collects none from children.

If you are under 18, please use the App under the guidance of a parent or legal guardian. We encourage guardians to monitor time spent in the App and to read the warnings about bright and flashing light in the User Agreement.

8. Your Rights

Under applicable data-protection law you have rights to access, copy, correct and delete your personal information and to withdraw consent.

Since CheerLume collects no personal information, these rights take the following practical form:

• Withdraw consent — turn off microphone access in Settings at any time;
• Delete data — deleting the App removes everything stored in its sandbox (the keychain identifier aside, as explained in section 3);
• Ask or complain — write to the address in section 10.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the App changes or as legal requirements evolve. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.

Where a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in-app. Please check this page from time to time.
